About us
If you're struggling at the moment, feeling overwhelmed, anxious or low, or simply know that something doesn't feel quite right, having someone to talk to can make a real difference.
At Harbour Minds, we believe counselling should be accessible to more people. We provide affordable one-to-one counselling at £25 per session, with face-to-face appointments in Beccles and Great Yarmouth, as well as online.
You don't need to be in crisis, have a diagnosis, or even know exactly what you want to talk about. People come to us for all sorts of reasons – anxiety, low mood, stress, relationship or family difficulties, bereavement, loneliness, low self-esteem, life changes, or simply feeling stuck.
Finding the right counsellor matters. When you first get in touch, we'll arrange a brief conversation to find out a little about you, what has brought you to counselling and what you're hoping for. We can then match you with a counsellor from our team who we feel could be a good fit, taking your needs, preferences and availability into account.
Our counsellors offer a warm, non-judgemental space where you can talk openly and explore things at your own pace. Our approach is person-centred, which means you are at the heart of the work – we won't tell you what you should do or assume we know what is best for you.
Harbour Minds is a Community Interest Company created to make good-quality counselling more accessible within our local communities. Our team includes qualified counsellors, and we also support the development of the next generation of counsellors through carefully managed placements.
Taking that first step can sometimes be the hardest part. If you're wondering whether counselling might help, you're very welcome to get in touch and have an initial conversation with us.

Further information
We offer counselling from comfortable, private rooms in Beccles and Great Yarmouth, as well as online, giving you some flexibility in how and where you access support.
We know that finding the right counsellor can make a real difference to your experience of therapy. When you first contact Harbour Minds, we will arrange a brief initial conversation to understand a little more about what has brought you to counselling, what you are looking for and any preferences you may have. We can then consider which member of our counselling team may be the best fit for you.
Our counsellors bring different experience, interests and ways of working, while sharing a commitment to providing a warm, respectful and non-judgemental space. Counselling is confidential and gives you the opportunity to talk openly about what is happening for you, without pressure or expectation.
Appointments are available during the daytime, with some evening availability. We will try to find an appointment that works with your circumstances and, where possible, offer continuity with the same counsellor at a regular time.
We want accessing counselling to feel as straightforward as possible. If you have any questions, accessibility requirements or particular needs or preferences, you are welcome to discuss these with us before deciding whether you would like to begin.
