About me
I'm Guy, a UPCA-accredited Child and Adolescent Psychotherapeutic counsellor with 5 years’ experience working with Children and Adolescents. I’m offering online sessions for young people aged 11 to 25. Whether things feel stuck, overwhelming, or hard to put into words, I'll work alongside you at your pace, using conversation and creative tools like drawing and shared visual maps to make sense of what's going on.
My work draws on attachment theory, child development, and the idea that we learn to relate to others through our earliest relationships. Times of trauma, stress, or difficult experiences can leave us with new ways of coping that make sense at the time but no longer help us now. Therapy is a chance to notice those patterns together, in a relationship that feels safe and unhurried. As an integrative, relational therapist, I don’t stick to a single model; I adapt to who you are.
For under-18s, I offer a first meeting with the young person and their parent or carer, and regular reviews along the way. These give the young person a safe way to share how therapy is going, in a way that feels in their control, and help parents and carers trust the process. What’s said in sessions stays confidential unless there’s a risk to safety, which I explain in the first session
Training, qualifications & experience
I'm a UPCA-accredited child and adolescent psychotherapeutic counsellor, trained at the University of Cambridge in a relational, creative approach. I also have a psychology degree from the Open University and volunteered with ChildLine.
I have over 1,000 hours of experience in primary and secondary schools, and have worked with young carers in London and with adults through an NHS placement with South London and Maudsley. I'm currently training in Cognitive Analytic Therapy, which fits closely with how I already work.
I work within the UPCA and UKCP ethical frameworks, hold an enhanced DBS check and full professional insurance, and receive regular clinical supervision.

Further information
Before counselling, I spent 20 years working in bars and restaurants and trying lots of different jobs, which gave me a wide range of life experience and the chance to meet people from all walks of life. What I loved most about hospitality was making connections with a wide range of people. Volunteering with ChildLine alongside that work made therapy feel like a natural next step, and a chance to make a real difference in people’s lives.
Sessions are online, last 50 minutes, and cost £70. I’m currently based in London and moving to Cambridge in the spring, so I’m offering online sessions for now, with in-person work to follow once I have a room. Get in touch to arrange an introductory chat.
