About me

About Me

I am a fully qualified Counsellor, Hypnotherapist and Coach and a Professional member of The National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society

I strongly believe in continued personal and professional development, and I constantly take opportunities to develop my skills and expertise to offer my clients the best possible support.

I spent over 20 years in people management and leadership positions in a global company before devoting myself full-time to running my private practice.

I co-host a successful podcast about addiction, recovery and friendship. It's called 'Sideways' and you can find it here https://feeds.buzzsprout.com/738812.rss

I also write a Substack on mental health viewed through the prism of my own life which can be found at  https://grahamlandi.substack.com/ or on my website.

Which Issues Can I Help With?

I work with all issues that might bring you to therapy.

I have a special interest in addiction and neurodivergence.

I work from a clinic in Maidstone and online via Zoom.

My Approach

My training is integrative meaning that I draw from a variety of different approaches which I bring together in a framework that helps me to support you in whichever way is most effective.

It's important that you feel that you have the right therapist for you, and to that end, I will always be happy to answer any questions you have before beginning any work.

How Can Counselling Help?

Sometimes the hardest step is the first one, when we know we need help and we finally find the strength to ask for it. That's what looking for help is, a great show of strength. The benefits of effective counselling are many, and different people will find they benefit in different ways at their own pace.

In essence, the process of discussing things that trouble us gives us a new perspective and a greater understanding of why we struggle in the way that we do. Understanding a problem gives us the ability to find solutions and fuels our ability to find better strategies that can often lead to life-changing improvements.

Is Counselling Good Value?

The odd thing about counselling is that the people who arrive have reached the point where they know something needs to change. At that point, even if the cost has become less important,  you are always worth the investment.

People live with very limiting problems which could be fixed if they would just invest a little time and money in themselves. It seems eternally strange to me that many of us think nothing of spending many hundreds or thousands of pounds on a holiday or new clothes but we struggle to see an investment in our own lives as similarly worthwhile.

Whatever choice you make regarding making your life better and more balanced remember that you are always worth it.

If you want to know more please contact me and I'll be happy to talk to you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a professionally trained Psychotherapeutic Counsellor. My training was integrative meaning that I use a combination of different approaches according to the needs of my client.

I have completed training to CPCAB Level 5.

I work in private practice at a clinic in Maidstone and online via Zoom

My coaching experience derives from the Advanced Certificate in Coaching completed in 2012 and previous to that the 25 years I spent in leadership roles in business.

My overriding principle is that however well-qualified I am not every therapist is right for every client. I am always happy to discuss my approach and experience with a client on the telephone, and there is an enormous amount of information on my website that will help you to identify whether or not I might be the right person to work with.
