About me

I am here to help, whatever you might be going through.

Perhaps you're finding things difficult at the moment, and you're not quite sure why. You might be used to coping, but inside you're suffering more than anyone knows.

You might be struggling with low self-esteem, relationships, bereavement, difficult life changes, loneliness, work-related stress, or something harder to put into words; you may just know that things don't feel right. You may feel anxious, stressed, overwhelmed, low, stuck, or simply tired of trying to manage everything on your own.

You don't need to - whatever brought you here, we can take the time to understand what is happening to you and what you need together.

How I Work

At the moment I am offering sessions exclusively online, in either English or Italian.

I work collaboratively, as I believe that you are the ultimate expert on your own life. I offer a confidential space and a warm, accepting, and non-judgemental relationship where you can feel safe enough to be yourself and speak openly about any issue. I'll listen carefully and work alongside you in exploring your feelings, thoughts and experiences, and make sense of them.

I work with clients who may be struggling with a variety of issues, and we will decide together how long to work together for. I focus on short-term support, so you don’t have to worry about a very long process.

During our initial sessions, we will delve deeply into the issues at hand, and collaborate to create a plan for addressing them. Often, even just the experience of talking openly with someone who is there to listen can be very helpful.

My approach is mainly humanistic - supportive, non-directive, person-centred and existential - but I also trained integratively, so I am equipped to draw from a variety of other modalities and techniques that may be helpful, based the specific needs of each individual and situation.

You are Welcome to Get in Touch!

I experienced first-hand how difficult life can be, and how helpful it is to talk with someone warm who understands you and believes you can get through it - I would be honoured to be that supportive person for you.

The quality of the relationship has important value in this kind of work, so I encourage you to have a chat with a few counsellors and chose someone to that you feel is right for you.

You are welcome to get in touch for a free initial chat, even if you are still wondering whether counselling might be right for you at this stage, I will be happy to hear from you and see if I can help.

Training, qualifications & experience

Credentials

I am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP), and I hold three different Master's degrees in Psychology & Psychotherapy.

More specifically, a Master of Science (MSc) in Psychology from the University of Greenwich, a Master of Science (MSc) in Developmental Psychology from the University of Florence, and a Master of Science (MSc) in Psychological Therapies / Counselling Psychology from City St George's, University of London.

I am a native Italian, but I trained both in Italy & the UK, where I've lived for many years, so I am proficient in both English as well as Italian, and well-versed in delivering sessions in either, depending on your need or preference.

Experience

I have experience working with clients seeking help for a variety of issues, such as processing grief due to bereavement, improving self-esteem, working though a difficult time or life transition, work-related or life stress, family difficulties, generalised anxiety, low mood, loneliness and isolation, relationship difficulties, crises of faith.

I have also volunteered extensively within The Listening Place, a London charity offering face-to-face empathic and non-judgemental listening support to individuals feeling suicidal, like life was no longer worth living, for whom it is unfortunately often too difficult to find relevant help. I therefore would be happy to support you in this is what you are currently experiencing.

I also have experience in Psychology & Psychotherapy Research, having conducted two supervised independent experimental projects and co-authored a study I helped conduct as a Research Assistant at the Counselling Psychology Research Clinic of City St George's, University of London.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
