About me

You may be the person everyone relies on - capable, caring, and used to holding things together. Perhaps you work in a helping profession or have a demanding caring role in your personal life. Lately, you may feel exhausted, overwhelmed, or as though you’re simply going through the motions. Even when you have the chance to rest, your mind keeps racing, and you can’t switch off. Somewhere among everyone else’s needs, you may have lost sight of your own.

I specialise in supporting people in helping professions and those carrying significant caring responsibilities who are experiencing burnout, chronic stress or overwhelm, helping them recover and find ways to prevent the same patterns recurring.

Burnout and prolonged stress can affect us in many different ways and may come alongside anxiety, low mood, exhaustion, overwhelm or the frightening feeling that you’re no longer quite yourself.

Whatever burnout looks like for you, we can explore what has brought you to this point, what may be keeping the cycle going and what you need to begin finding your way forward.

My approach

I work in a compassionate, person-centred and integrative way, tailoring therapy to you rather than expecting you to fit one approach. Together, we might explore how past experiences shape you today, gently challenge unhelpful thinking patterns, or reflect on your values, identity and what gives your life meaning.

Our work may also draw on somatic approaches and nervous-system regulation. We can develop a personalised toolkit for recovery and prevention, helping you recognise your patterns and limits, reconnect with your needs and create a more sustainable balance between caring for others and caring for yourself. Our work will always be collaborative and guided by what feels most helpful to you.

Burnout, neurodivergence and trauma

Burnout does not always exist in isolation. For some people, ADHD, other forms of neurodivergence or the impact of trauma may also play a part. Experiences such as masking, hyperfocus, perfectionism or feeling responsible for other people can make it harder to recognise your limits, rest without guilt or notice when you are becoming depleted.

I have particular expertise in the intersection of burnout, ADHD and trauma. I have additional training in neurodiversity-affirming practice and trauma therapy, alongside lived experience of burnout, ADHD and trauma. This brings both professional and personal understanding to my work, while recognising that every person’s experience is different.

Where relevant, I can help you understand how these experiences may contribute to burnout without treating who you are as something that needs to be fixed.

This allows us to look beyond the burnout itself and understand what may be driving or maintaining it. Together, we can find approaches to recovery and prevention that respect how you experience the world and genuinely work for you.

A wider view of burnout

I will not treat burnout or work-related stress as a “you problem” or as a sign that you simply need to become better at coping. We live and work within systems that often value productivity and reward overwork and self-sacrifice.

These pressures can be particularly difficult for people who spend much of their lives supporting others. Caring deeply is often one of your strengths, but it can also make it harder to recognise when too much is being asked of you - or when you are giving more than you can sustainably afford.

Therapy can give you space to explore these wider pressures alongside your personal experiences. The aim is not to make you care less, but to help you protect your wellbeing without losing the parts of yourself that care deeply about others.

Couples therapy

I also support couples, including those where one or both partners are experiencing burnout or are neurodivergent. Together, we can understand how individual needs and experiences shape your relationship, make sense of recurring patterns, and find more helpful ways to communicate, share responsibility and support each other.

If any of this resonates with you, you are welcome to contact me to explore whether working together might feel right for you.
