About me

I’m Georgina, an Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist currently offering both short and long-term therapy online.

My Approach

I am trained in an integrative therapeutic approach, which means I offer an individualised approach to each of my clients, combining different techniques to cater to your specific needs. My sessions are collaborative, and I aim to create a space for us to work together to explore whatever may be troubling you, in an environment that feels safe and compassionate.

I have experience working with a diverse range of clients facing various challenges including anxiety, body dysmorphia, low self-esteem, panic, depression, bereavement, parental estrangement, housing displacement, and sex and relationship difficulties. I also have experience working with neurodiversity and suicidal ideation.

What to expect

I believe that our unique experiences in life shape our thoughts, feelings, and ways of relating, and will work with you to build self-awareness and move towards positive personal growth. Warmth and empathy are at the heart of my approach, and I will meet you without judgment, ready to listen.

An initial session will give us an opportunity to explore what it is that is troubling you in the now and begin to think about how we can best use the therapeutic space going forward. The first session also gives us a chance to discuss practical details like the duration of therapy (short or long-term, although this can always be reconsidered as we go along), the frequency, and the time of the week we will meet. Most importantly, it's an opportunity for you to get a feel for the way that I work, and whether you think we'd be a good fit. There is no obligation to continue after the first session.

Availability

I currently have daytime and evening availability throughout the week, accepting new clients online. I offer a brief introductory call free of charge to answer any initial queries and book a session if you'd like to proceed. Please book this via the Counselling Directory website - once confirmed, I will call you at the agreed time. Alternatively, please feel free to contact me via email where I will endeavour to get back to you within 2 working days.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
