About me
We are all people with a unique set of life experiences that have created who we are; people with stories, desires, relationships and feelings. Life has the ability to shape us. However, it is my belief that we are all unset clay and have the power to reshape ourselves.
About Me
I am a fully qualified, BACP registered therapist trained in integrative and trauma informed approaches. Being integrative means that I tailor my work to your unique experiences and needs.
I offer a space to gently develop trust, somewhere you feel you can safely talk about the things that have led you here, at your own pace, in your own time. At times, the work between us may feel difficult. It can be confronting to experience something new or different but it can also feel empowering, exciting and healing to discover aspects of yourself that have felt hidden.
At the heart of my work is the belief that the relationship between us, is what matters most when it comes to creating the possibility for change.
Why Therapy?
People come to therapy for many reasons. It's possible you've found support in speaking to someone before or you're unsure about counselling and don't know where to begin. There is no right reason.
The people that come to me are often those that feel unseen, unheard and different in ways that are not always as clear as the labels we give ourselves. Sometimes they're feeling anxious, low, overwhelmed, struggling with relationships, change, identity, neurodivergence, loss, sexuality, confidence, or just feeling different. Sometimes harmful patterns are being repeated, there are new difficulties in life to navigate or they are seeking a deeper understanding of themselves and their experiences.
If any of this feels familiar, get in touch. We can begin the journey of exploration and finding your way forward together.
Training, qualifications & experience
My Experience
I work with a diverse client group, including the LGBTQ+ community, often supporting a wide range of difficulties that don’t always fit neatly into a single category. This includes those experiencing the lasting effects of childhood trauma and neurodivergent individuals, including those who are ADHD, autistic, or both.
I have worked across a range of private therapeutic and clinical settings, including GP practices, low-cost therapy services, and charities. This includes work with Care for the Carers, a charity offering free therapy to people who care for others. Having also worked within a local Talking Therapies service, I understand the limitations of short term NHS interventions, which can sometimes struggle to hold the complexity and depth of a person’s experience
Qualifications and Training
Alongside my First-Class Degree in Integrative Relational Counselling, I engage in ongoing training and professional development to keep my skills and knowledge enhanced and up to date. I am particularly interested in how trauma can continue to be embodied within us, how this impacts our relationship with ourselves and others, and how we can find hope on the other side.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Additional information
Taking the step to open yourself up to therapy is always a courageous one. In order to make things easier, I offer a free 20 minute introductory call prior to an in person assessment. This provides an opportunity to get a sense of what it might be like working together and to ask any questions you may have about the process.
If we continue working together after the assessment, sessions are 50 minutes long and usually take place the same date and time each week.
I also have a number of reduced fee spaces for those on a low income or who are unemployed. I believe that access to therapy should not be a privilege, and I am passionate about offering concessionary rates where possible.
