About me
I am a Clinical Psychologist, registered with the Health Care and Professionals Council (HCPC; Registration number PYL041495). I also completed core group training in ISTDP (Intensive Short Term Dynamic Psychotherapy) in Berlin, Germany (course IEDTA accredited).
As a certified clinical psychologist, I have an extensive background and specialist training in adult mental health. My approach to therapy is ambitious and compassionate, together we will seek to understand your goals, improve your problems and reduce your distress.
Experience
I currently work both in the NHS and private practice, specialising in working with adults experiencing a wide range of psychological and emotional difficulties. I have specialist training in working with people who experience different issues such as trauma, depression, anxiety, panic attacks, obsessive thinking, bereavement, stress, burnout, low self-esteem, low confidence, relationship difficulties, perinatal difficulties, among others
Psychotherapies Offered
I have training and experience in various therapeutic approaches. Including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), cognitive analytic therapy (CAT) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT). This allows for broad assessment of the clients I work with and flexibility and creativity within the treatment.
My main method of treatment is ISTDP, which is a scientifically proven form of psychological treatment. This is an accelerated and time-limited therapy which focuses on working through emotional barriers responsible for emotional difficulties such as depression, anxiety difficulties, low self-esteem or interpersonal problems. To date, more than 120 research studies have proven that ISTDP works in improving symptoms for many mental health difficulties including depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, sleep problems or physical/medically unexplained symptoms among many others.
Beginning of Therapy
(A) Initial Assessment
The first step is to attend two 90 minute initial assessment sessions. During this assessment we will develop a comprehensive understanding of your difficulties. This initial encounter will also allow you to assess and decide whether my approach to therapy is well tailored to your needs and difficulties. Initial assessment sessions should give you a helpful indication of what to expect if you were to commit to regular therapy sessions.
(B) Follow-Up Sessions
If we both agree to work together, we will arrange follow-up appointments. These appointments are most commonly 90 minutes and we meet either weekly or fortnightly.
Fees
£150/90 minutes
£100/60 minutes
