About me
I am a qualified therapeutic counsellor, offering counselling and psychotherapy in Brighton and Hove, as well as online. I offer a supportive, collaborative therapeutic relationship in which I am actively engaged in our work together, rather than simply sitting back and listening. As well as listening carefully to what you bring, I bring gentle curiosity and offer reflections that may help you see yourself and your experiences in new ways. Alongside what is spoken, I pay attention to recurring patterns, how things are communicated, and what remains unspoken, as these can often reveal as much as the words themselves.
I also recognise that none of us exists in isolation. Our experiences are shaped not only by our inner world but also by our relationships, communities, workplaces, cultures, and the wider systems we live within. I hold these contexts in mind as we work together, recognising how they may influence your experiences, relationships, and sense of yourself.
Together, working at your pace, we can develop a deeper understanding of yourself, cultivate greater self-compassion, and create the possibility of meaningful change.
How therapy can help
Therapy can support you if you are feeling overwhelmed by major life transitions, health challenges, or anxiety. It can also help with low mood, relationship difficulties, and a general sense that something is not right. Together, we can explore your thoughts and feelings, build understanding, and find a way forward that feels manageable and meaningful.
Who it can help
I work with adults and young people facing a wide range of concerns, including major life changes, illness or shocks, anxiety, stress, and emotional distress. Therapy may be helpful whether you have a clear issue in mind or simply know that you need support. I offer a compassionate and individualised approach that recognises each person’s unique experience.
Next steps
I offer a free 15-minute initial call so we can talk through what you need and whether working together feels like the right fit. This gives you a chance to ask questions and get a sense of how I work before deciding whether to begin.
Practicalities
Sessions are available in person in both Brighton and Hove, and across the UK online, over the phone, or walk-and-talk. I offer clients short-term (fixed number of sessions) and longer-term (open-ended) therapy, depending on what feels most useful.
Inclusivity
I aim to offer a welcoming, respectful space where you can feel comfortable being yourself. My practice is grounded in empathy, curiosity, and care, and I am committed to working in a way that is affirming of LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent clients. I strive to create an inclusive practice that honours all identities and cultures.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor with extensive experience supporting people with a wide range of concerns.
- I hold a Humanistic Counselling and Psychotherapy Postgraduate Diploma from the University of Brighton (Master’s Level 7, with Distinction),
- MSc and a BSc in Psychology (Hons, Dunelm).
- I am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP, no. 414867).
My practice is inclusive and affirming, and I have particular experience working with trans clients, neurodivergent clients (particularly ADHD, autism and AuDHD), and people affected by major health shocks and diagnoses such as cancer and brain tumours, as well as menopause and health anxiety. I also support clients experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, loss, relationship difficulties, and lack of confidence or low self-esteem, among other challenges.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
