About me
I’m Fiona, a qualified, person-centred counsellor offering a warm and supportive space where you can talk openly and be truly heard - without fear of judgment or pressure. I specialise in working with trauma, low confidence, and self-esteem, helping people reconnect with their sense of self and feel more grounded, empowered, and whole.
At the heart of my practice is the belief that you are the expert on your own experience. My role is to walk alongside you with empathy, care, and honesty as you explore whatever is going on for you. I offer a calm, confidential space where all parts of you are welcome - even the parts that feel messy, uncertain, or painful.
Many of the people I work with carry deep feelings of shame, self-doubt, or the effects of difficult past experiences. My approach is trauma-informed, which means I work gently and respectfully, always guided by your pace and what feels safe for you.
Whether you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected, or just unsure of yourself, counselling can help you begin to understand and soften the critical inner voice, strengthen your sense of self, and move forward with more clarity and self-compassion.
I offer in-person/online/telephone sessions and work with adults. If you’re thinking about starting counselling or wondering whether I’m the right fit for you, I’d be happy to have a no-obligation, informal chat.
You deserve to be heard, and you don’t have to face things on your own.
Warmly.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have 10 years of experience working with adults and young people in various settings, including the third sector, local authority, and funded projects. I have worked with adults facing anxiety and low mood as a social prescriber and an adult tutor for the local authority. I spent 2 years at Fife Women’s Aid counselling women who experienced domestic abuse, including physical, emotional, sexual, and financial abuse, to support them through their trauma and help them rebuild their lives. I am currently a self-employed therapist - Heart Space - working with several third-sector organisations, focusing on childhood trauma and addressing the cost-of-living crisis.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
