About me

Welcome. I am an experienced psychotherapist and counsellor working with adults, young adults, couples and families on a wide range of issues which include, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, relationship and family issues, procrastination, OCD, gender, perfectionism, grief and loss, suicidal thoughts, anger management, self-harm and addictions.  I offer face-to-face and online/video call consultations in Torriano Avenue in Kentish Town, Swains Lane in Highgate and New Broad Street in the City.

When we have problems in our life, it is not always easy to ask for the help we need and most of us would like to be able to cope with life's events and changes easily, but it is not always possible. It can help to talk to a caring professional.  I offer a safe, supportive, non-judgmental and professional environment in which to explore your world.

Therapy can offer us the opportunity to achieve a greater understanding of ourselves, our emotional distress and to facilitate change, a new perspective and realise our full potential.

Consultations
Consultations are are available Monday-Saturday with daytime and evening appointments available. You can elect to have appointments either in person or via online/video call or by telephone.  Appointments are 50 minutes in duration and our work together can be an open-ended arrangement or time-limited (6-12 weeks).  Couples therapy sessions are 60 minutes in duration.

About Online Therapy This is particularly useful if you are unable to leave your home or live in a remote location. You may have a particularly busy lifestyle and want to receive therapy ‘on the move’ or at your place of work.

Provided you have access to a mobile phone or computer with a webcam or inbuilt camera (laptop, desktop or tablet) and you are able to be in a confidential setting, you have access to online therapy.    You may wish to begin therapy with a face-to-face arrangement and then move it online, which can reduce time and cost.

Fees

  • Initial consultation £70.00
  • Subsequent consultations £70.00
  • Couples therapy £85.00
  • Online/Video call consultation £55.00

I have some availability for reduced rates for individual online therapy.   Please contact me for details.

What to Expect at the First Appointment The initial consultation gives us the opportunity to explore the issues you wish to bring to counselling, what you hope to gain from it and for me to answer any questions you may have. It also allows me to explain a little bit more about how I work, the models I use, the process of therapy and my recommendations for our work together. There is certainly no obligation to continue beyond this initial appointment.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
