Feel better from the first session - MHGI

About me

I work with clients to address challenges such as trauma, anxiety, anger, low mood, grief and depression.  I’ve been a counsellor for 4 years and have worked in mental health roles for more than 20. Whatever you are experiencing right now with your wellbeing, change is possible and together we find your path to recovery.

I’m trained in the Human Givens approach focusing on meeting your emotional and physical needs in order to feel well. It is an approach that draws on the latest research in psychology, neuroscience, and on proven techniques from a wide range of modalities in counselling and psychotherapy.

I work with people at times when you might be finding life difficult. Maybe there’s been some changes or challenges, and perhaps you’d benefit from learning some new skills, practical techniques, or different ways of coping with things.

I can also support when there have been challenges or traumatic events in your life. I make use of the rewind technique along side other skills and techniques to help calm and settle the strong emotions, difficult thoughts and feelings that can come on the back of these experiences. This work supports you to rebuild a life that works for you now, without past events getting in the way.

I have experience around adoption, the changes and challenges this can bring to all parties.

Clients that I’ve worked with in the past have said they found it really helpful to be listened to without judgement. They’ve found it useful to have practical skills and techniques to go away and try, and they’ve found it useful to work with relaxation and guided imagery, which is something I can bring into my client work if it’s right for you.

A key part to choosing a counselor is finding the right person for you and who you feel comfortable talking to. To support making this decision I offer a 15-minute free phone call and if you choose to go ahead and book sessions, we can take sessions on a session-by-session basis so you feel really confident that you’re working in the way that’s going to work best for you. Sessions will focus on the areas that are most important for you, and we'll work together on the changes that you’re looking for.

I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you.
