About me

Life can be challenging, and it’s normal to experience times in which we feel overwhelmed, lost, or unsure of how to move forward.

I believe in the power of the therapeutic relationship and its ability to enable change. My approach is rooted in empathy, respect, and the understanding that each person’s experience is valid and unique. I offer a compassionate, non-judgemental and confidential environment where we can work together to help you find clarity, healing and emotional well-being.

I understand that reaching out for therapy can feel daunting, but want you to know that I am warm, gentle and easily approachable. It is important to feel safe with someone in order to share difficult feelings and thoughts. I will do everything possible to create a sense of safety within our sessions.

I am a fully qualified counsellor/psychotherapist. I work integratively which means I use different approaches and theories based on your individual needs. This includes both Person Centred and Psychodynamic modalities.

Through my experience as a therapist, I have developed the ability to form meaningful connections that allow for a deep and accurate understanding of each individual's unique experience of life. This connection serves as the foundation for a safe and supportive therapeutic relationship, grounded in trust, empathy, and mutual respect. From this secure base, we can collaboratively explore strategies and approaches to support your growth and facilitate meaningful progress.

I am guided by you in sessions to work at your pace and in a style that suits you, ensuring that the work is the most effective it can be.

I have had the privilege of supporting individuals through a wide range of challenges and I feel honoured to have worked with each and every one.

Training, qualifications & experience

My path into counselling and psychotherapy has been shaped by a lifelong passion for understanding people and supporting them through life’s challenges. I hold a degree in Psychology, which laid the foundation for my work across various roles supporting children, young people, and families.

Driven by a desire to offer more focused and therapeutic support, I went on to train as a counsellor/psychotherapist. This step allowed me to combine my psychological knowledge and practical experience with a deeper, person-centred approach to emotional healing and growth.

I hold a level 4 in therapeutic counselling and psychotherapy and am in the final stages of level 5 in working with children and young people. I have additional training in psychodynamic modality.

I am a fully accredited member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP).

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
