About us

Hello, I’m Faye. I’m a counsellor, EMDR therapist and pluralistic practitioner, and I believe that therapy should be a space where you can come exactly as you are - without judgement, pressure or having to fit yourself into a particular box.

I know that life can sometimes feel overwhelming, confusing or simply exhausting. Perhaps you’re struggling with anxiety, past experiences, relationships, self-worth, big life changes, or feeling like you’re constantly trying to keep everything together. You may not even know exactly what you need - only that something needs to change.

My approach is warm, compassionate and collaborative. I don’t believe there is one way of doing therapy that works for everyone, so I work with you as an individual, drawing on different therapeutic approaches to find what feels most helpful for you. I’ll support you to explore what’s happening beneath the surface, understand yourself with greater compassion and begin to make sense of patterns that may have developed over time.

I’m particularly passionate about creating a neurodiversity-affirming therapeutic space. I believe you shouldn’t have to mask, perform or change who you are to be accepted in therapy. Your experiences, needs and way of seeing the world matter.

As an EMDR therapist, I can also support you to work through distressing or traumatic experiences when this feels appropriate. EMDR can help the brain process experiences that still feel stuck, so that the past has less power over how you feel in the present.

Most importantly, therapy is something we do together. You remain the expert in your own life, and my role is to walk alongside you - offering curiosity, compassion, challenge and support when you need it.

If you’re wondering whether counselling might be right for you, you don’t need to have everything figured out before reaching out. Sometimes taking that first step is enough.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

We have verified that at least one professional at this organisation is registered with the relevant professional body.
