About me

You may appear to be coping on the outside while privately struggling with anxiety, self-doubt, grief, relationship difficulties, emotional overwhelm, or a sense that something is not quite working despite your best efforts.

I work with individuals, couples, and those seeking EMDR therapy. Some people come to therapy wanting a deeper understanding of themselves and the patterns shaping their lives. Others come feeling stuck in recurring conflict, distance, or disconnection within their relationship. Some find that, despite understanding things intellectually, experiences from the past continue to affect how they think, feel, relate, and respond in the present.

Perhaps you find yourself repeating familiar patterns, feeling disconnected from yourself or those closest to you, or struggling to understand why the same difficulties keep resurfacing despite your best efforts.

Many of the ways we learn to cope develop for good reasons. They may once have helped us survive difficult experiences, relationships, or circumstances. Over time, however, those same patterns can begin to feel restrictive, affecting our relationship with ourselves and those around us.

Whether we are exploring current difficulties, relationship dynamics, or experiences that continue to feel unresolved, therapy offers a space to understand yourself, your relationships, and the patterns that shape your life.

Together, we can explore what may be happening beneath the surface, creating the possibility for greater freedom, connection, and choice.

My approach is warm, relational, and collaborative. I see therapy as something we do together rather than something that is done to you.

I am a warm therapist, and I am also a direct one. While theory informs my work, I do not believe therapy can be reduced to technique alone. At its heart, therapy is a relationship between two people.

While I offer compassion and support, I also bring curiosity, honesty, and gentle challenge to our work. I pay close attention not only to what is said, but also to what is felt, what is avoided, and what emerges between us in the room.

I also believe that being in this profession places us in a privileged position. It is therefore important to me that I continue my own personal and therapeutic journey. I cannot ask my clients to search for truths within themselves if I am not willing to do so myself.

I believe clients deserve more than a therapist hidden behind a professional role. While clear boundaries are important, I bring my authentic self to the work and see the therapeutic relationship as a genuine human encounter. I owe my clients my presence, honesty, and full engagement in the process.

Although I take the work seriously, I do not believe therapy needs to feel overly formal or clinical. There is room for warmth, humour, and genuine human connection alongside reflection, insight, and deeper exploration.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am an Integrative Psychotherapist, Couples Therapist, and EMDR Therapist.

I am an accredited member of the UKCP (UK Council for Psychotherapy) and a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy), and I adhere to the ethical frameworks of both organisations.

I work in private practice with individuals and couples and have experience supporting clients with a wide range of emotional, relational, and psychological difficulties. My work includes long-term psychotherapy, time-limited therapy, couples therapy, and EMDR.

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

UKCP
UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
