About me
My name is Emma and I am an Attachment-Based Integrative Therapist working with both adults and young people.
Are you, or a young person you care about, feeling anxious, overwhelmed, low in confidence or stuck? You may be coping with difficult relationships, school or work pressures, grief, family change, identity questions or earlier experiences that continue to affect you now.
I offer warm, supportive and non-judgemental counselling for adults and young people aged 11+. My aim is to provide a calm, confidential and age-appropriate space where you can talk openly, feel heard and begin to make sense of what is happening. You do not need to have the right words or know exactly what you need before getting in touch. We can begin where you are now.
I work with adults experiencing anxiety, low mood, stress, overwhelm, burnout, relationship or family difficulties, grief and loss, self-esteem issues, identity questions and significant life changes. I also support women who feel they have lost touch with themselves through the demands of work, parenting, relationships or midlife change, including perimenopause and menopause.
I also support young people aged 11+ who may be feeling anxious, low, emotionally overwhelmed or under pressure. They may be finding school difficult, worrying a lot, struggling with friendships or family relationships, experiencing change or loss, or finding it hard to express how they feel. I work at each young person’s pace, using conversation, creativity and gentle exploration where appropriate.
I welcome neurodivergent adults and young people, including Autistic people and people with ADHD. Whether you are exploring neurodivergence, self-identify or have a formal diagnosis, I aim to work flexibly and affirmingly, adapting sessions around your individual needs.
Alongside my work with adults and young people, I have a particular interest in supporting adult adoptees and people with experience of kinship care or special guardianship. These experiences can bring complex feelings around identity, belonging, loss, family relationships, reunion, rejection, loyalty and self-worth. As an adoptee myself, I understand that every adoption experience is unique. I offer a compassionate, thoughtful and attuned space to explore your individual story at your own pace.
I am attachment-based and integrative in my approach. This means I am interested in how relationships and life experiences may affect the way we feel, cope and relate to others. I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches and tailor sessions to the individual, rather than using a one-size-fits-all method. I work collaboratively, with empathy, curiosity and gentle challenge where helpful.
I see adults face to face in Farnham Common and Sunninghill, convenient for Windsor, Ascot, Sunningdale, Virginia Water, Egham, Slough, Maidenhead, Beaconsfield and surrounding areas. I see young people aged 11+ face to face in Sunninghill. I also offer online and telephone counselling for adults across the UK.
Taking the first step towards counselling can feel daunting, whether you are seeking support for yourself or for a child or teenager in your care. I offer a free, 20 min initial informal call, by phone or video, to talk about what is happening, answer any questions and help you decide whether counselling with me feels like the right next step.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
