About me
Are you living your life in a dream, rather than living your dream life?
Maybe you look around and notice that you've been sleepwalking through the last few years; unaware of the changing seasons, preoccupied by practical tasks, weighed down by responsibility, duties, and expectations. You haven't forgotten about the life you dreamed of living; it's an idea always simmering quietly, but it's shrouded in fear.
As an existential psychotherapist, my work is inspired by the same kinds of questions that fuel me in my own life: How should I live? What does it mean to live life "well"?
Existential Therapy
Existential therapy is interested in exploring existence ie., what it means to be alive. The therapist aims to approach this exploration with a sense of openness and wonder, and avoids fitting the client into pre-established interpretations. Existential therapy considers that a person’s nature is not fixed; we are constantly creating ourselves. This means that we always have a choice of how we want to live. Although this freedom can feel exciting, this responsibility of choice can also feel like a terrifying burden.
Existential therapy confronts fundamental questions regarding human existence: "Who am I?" “What is my purpose in life?” “Am I free or determined?” “How do I deal with my own mortality?” "Does my existence have any meaning or significance?" "How shall I live my life?"
This type of therapy is particularly suitable during periods of transition in life: relationship breakup, bereavement, redundancy or changing jobs, moving and immigration, retirement, etc.
Therapy for expats
My own life, I notice, it has been a long thread of transition. Originally from Canada, I have lived in New Zealand, the US, the UK, Morocco, and France. My experiences living abroad have taught me that moving away from your homeland to a new country brings complex and often conflicting emotions.
I offer therapy online to individuals across the EU and UK.

school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
