About me
I offer psychodynamic counselling, which means that together we explore your feelings, why you feel the way you do, how it's affecting you, and finding a way through that brings a sense of meaning. This is grounded in the belief that our present difficulties often have roots in past experiences and patterns we're not always fully aware of, which shape how we relate to ourselves and others.
Together we make sense of recurring patterns in your life, what they're protecting you from, and how to find more room to be yourself. Rather than quick fixes or advice, I support you in developing your own insight and capacity for self-reflection.
I work with people struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, low self-esteem, and life transitions. You may be feeling lost or empty, overwhelmed, stuck, or constantly on edge. In our work together we begin to make sense of your feelings, how they might relate to past experiences and attachments, and what change could look like for you.
The relationship between counsellor and client is central to my work. In itself it becomes a space for understanding and change, which we explore together with compassion and curiosity, in a safe, non-judgemental space. Through a gradual process of exploring your inner world, it can become possible to let go of deep-rooted, unhelpful patterns and grow as a person.
I have experience working with neurodivergent clients and clients who identify as LGBTQ+, and I bring an awareness of how these experiences can shape both what brings you to counselling and how safe or seen you feel within it.
I offer a free 20 minute confidential call, by phone or video, to discuss what you're looking for, answer any questions, and get a sense of whether we're a good fit to work together.

I started my career studying social psychology to PhD level, which gave me a deep appreciation for how relationships, environments, and the stories we tell ourselves shape who we become. After my doctorate, I spent years working in policy within the public sector, where I saw first-hand how systems can support, or fail, people at their most vulnerable. A personal life crisis changed my path. Going through counselling myself, I discovered the healing power of being properly listened to and understood.
I see clients in my private practice in central Edinburgh and at the Garnethill Centre in Glasgow, where I also provide training.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
