About me

Perhaps you've reached a point where something doesn't feel quite right, but you're not sure what needs to change. At Root & Bloom Therapy UK, I offer a warm, safe, and non-judgemental space where you can slow down, make sense of what's happening, and begin to understand yourself with greater compassion. You don't need to have everything figured out before you begin. Therapy can be a space to pause, make sense of what you're experiencing, and gently explore what you need to feel more grounded, confident, and connected.

Root & Bloom Therapy offers a safe, compassionate online space to slow down, feel heard, and make sense of what you’re experiencing. We can support you with: • Anxiety, stress, overwhelm • Confidence, self-esteem • Relationships and boundaries • Life changes • Processing challenging experiences • Reconnecting with yourself. Come as you are.

Sometimes life can feel overwhelming, uncertain, or simply too much. Therapy offers a safe, compassionate space to pause, reflect, and be heard - without judgement. Together, we can explore what's beneath the surface, develop greater self-understanding, and find a way forward that feels right for you.

Training, qualifications & experience

Online Therapy Across the UK, In-Person Support in Glasgow's South Side.

I'm Elizabeth, a BACP-registered counsellor and founder of Root & Bloom Therapy UK. I offer online therapy to adults across the UK, as well as in-person counselling for clients based in Glasgow's South Side.

Before training as a counsellor, I spent over twenty years working as a registered nurse - a career that shaped how I understand people: not as problems to be solved, but as whole individuals navigating difficult moments in their lives. That understanding continues to guide the way I work today.

Therapy, to me, is a bit like tending a garden. With the right conditions - patience, care, and the right kind of attention - people are able to root themselves again and bloom into who they're meant to be. That's the belief this practice is built on.

Outside of my practice, I find a lot of meaning in creativity and in time spent with my family - both remind me why this work matters, and why listening, really listening, can help someone find their way back to themselves.

If this feels like the right fit, I'd be glad to hear from you - get in touch to book an initial session, or reach out with any questions first via our contact us form.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Additional information

I am particularly interested in supporting and learning with students and key workers. I appreciate the time and financial implications personal therapy can have on studies, so I offer a reduced rate of £45 for counselling students of any modality and any level.

Coming from a family of key workers, and previously being a key worker, I have often found our identity can get lost in what we do, and our self-care, passions, and sense of fun can be at the bottom of our agenda. I'd love to work with you if this resonates.

Further information

Not every challenge needs weeks of therapy to untangle. Single session therapy offers a focused, compassionate space to work through a specific worry, decision, or moment of overwhelm - in just one appointment, with no obligation to continue.

Available online or in person, single session therapy suits adults facing anxiety, stress, relationship difficulties, or a particular life transition who want clarity and support now, rather than committing to ongoing sessions.

How It Works

In one dedicated session (90 minutes), we'll explore what's bringing you to therapy, gently unpack what's beneath the surface, and work together towards a way forward that feels manageable and right for you - no judgement, no pressure.

It's a flexible option if you're:

  • Facing a specific issue or decision
  • Curious about therapy but not ready for ongoing sessions
  • Wanting support between longer-term counselling
  • Short on time but needing to be heard

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a Counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the Counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.
