About me

I offer counselling, couples and relationship therapy, and personal coaching for individuals, couples and small groups. I provide a safe and confidential space in my private therapy room near Southampton Common, online via Zoom, or by phone.

I understand that finding the right counsellor, therapist or coach to work with you is key to helping you explore, accept, and create the change you'd like to see. I offer a free 30 minute Zoom consultation to discuss your needs and concerns, discuss how to support the future you see for yourself, and to understand how we might work together.

I can help you with a number of concerns, including:

  • affairs and betrayal, separation and divorce
  • anxiety (general feelings or specific issues)
  • behavioural concerns (own or other's - how to cope)
  • bereavement and loss
  • dementia support
(for individuals experiencing early stage dementia or those caring for a relative with dementia)
  • emotional abuse
  • family issues
  • feeling sad (general feelings or specific issues)
  • learning disabilities including ADHD and ASD
  • loss and bereavement
  • older people's concerns, including dementia and loss of independence
  • panic attacks
  • perfectionism
  • relationship issues for individuals, couples and small groups
  • sensitivity, including ADHD rejection sensitivity
  • separation and divorce, affairs and betrayal
  • social anxiety
  • trauma
  • working with ADHD and ASD

I will listen carefully, empathetically and compassionately to help you evaluate your past, your present, and help you develop a practical, personalised approach to how you want your life to be. I integrate a number of recognised and established therapies to tailor an approach that suits you best, including problem solving techniques such as CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) and TA (Transactional Analysis) to help you understand what's going on for you, how you communicate and interact with others, and how you move move forward with positivity.

You might have some questions:

  • what's happened in the past and how does that impact what's happening right now?
  • what are your goals?
  • what do you need to do differently for things to change?
  • what support do you need to put your goals into action?
  • how do you build your autonomy and authenticity - either individually or within a relationship?
  • who are the important people in your life and how do you communicate with them effectively?
  • how will you evaluate/celebrate the changes you make?

Whatever you need, I work from a private, cosy and comfortable ground floor therapy room near Southampton Common, or online via Zoom if you prefer. If you visit me in person you'll be able to park close by.

Please contact me to arrange a free 30 minute initial Zoom consultation.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Wheelchair user access
Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a Counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the Counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.

I have level entry to a ground floor therapy room and wheelchair accessible toilet facilities. I would welcome new clients with accessibility requirements (on a reduced fee) to help ensure my provision meets their needs.
