About me

I am a qualified person-centred counsellor with 18 years of social work experience. My career background is working for the Local Authority within Children & Families services, and I have extensive expertise of working with complex family situations/problems. I have much knowledge of the care system/fostering, adoption and therapeutic services. In addition to my private practice, I am also a counsellor with the NHS Counselling Service and a mental health charity.

As a person-centred counsellor, my role is to provide a safe space for you to explore what you feel able to and at your own pace. It is your time to focus on yourself and an opportunity for you to open up your inner world to see what that looks and feels like for you. You can offload your troubled mind whilst feeling safe and valued. I believe that in order for you to explore your inner self, it is necessary for you feel heard, safe and supported, in a non-judgemental, warm and compassionate environment. I aim to provide this for you so that you are able and comfortable to share whatever may be causing you stress, anxiety or depression and affecting your overall emotional well-being. This is your journey, your road map to figure out, and I will travel alongside you. Together we can work towards inner peace and calmness, and I will help you to find tools to navigate through whatever is holding you back from being your true self. Starting your counselling journey can be daunting, but so beneficial.

I warmly invite you to embark on your counselling journey where support is provided to help you make positive changes in the direction that is right for you as an individual.

I currently offer face to face counselling, working from Colwyn Bay - LL29 7YW, Llanrwst – LL26 0AA & Llandudno Junction – LL31 9BA. I also offer telephone and online counselling sessions.

I am fully insured and a member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) to ensure that I practise within their ethical framework, and standards and ethics are maintained. I am DBS checked for working with both adults and children.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
