About me

I offer therapy in person, in Fitzrovia, near Regent's Park, and also in Brixton, and online.

The therapy we do together provides a compassionate, confidential space in which to explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences, with an openness to whatever issues you may wish to bring. We explore how you can be at home in the world in a way that is meaningful to you, that empowers you to work thorough difficulties and embrace the future.

I have experience with clients who are undergoing significant changes and difficulties in personal relationships, employment or life in general. You may have high levels of anxiety or stress; relationship or attachment issues; you may be facing, or have been through a separation, divorce (https://youtu.be/E_a0BWfFqMI) or family issues; you may have lost someone close to you; be experiencing sadness or depression; perfectionism; low self-esteem; or the wide ranging impacts of trauma.

I pay careful attention to the way the patterns of your experience shed light on your concerns, and how they relate to past events, to present circumstances, and to the uncertainties and possibilities of the future. This is existentialist therapy that builds an understanding of your way of being and relating.

For me, therapy is about creating a compassionate, sensitive, and insightful connexion, as a way of tuning in to your experiences and concerns, and from there working together on finding the ways forward or changes that are most meaningful for you.

My approach is guided by deep affinity for a client's potential for living a more fulfilling life by coming to terms with the past, living fully in the present, and embracing the challenges and possibilities of the future. I welcome the chance for us to have an initial conversation, to see how I can work with you to provide the therapy that you may be seeking.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a masters degree (MA) with distinction in psychotherapy and counselling, with a focus on existential therapy. I also have a PhD in neural networks, and a master's (MSc) with distinction in the area of cognitive science.

I am MBACP, a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (Registration number 406354).

I have a broad range of experience, especially with clients facing difficulties in personal relationships, such as separation or divorce (https://youtu.be/E_a0BWfFqMI), employment or life in general. These sometimes include anxiety, bereavement, depression, low self-esteem, or the impacts of trauma. I also have experience of working with clients in highly pressured work environments, and I have extensive career experience in leadership roles.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
