About me
If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply not yourself, counselling can offer a calm space to breathe and make sense of what’s going on. I provide gentle, confidential, and non‑judgemental face-to-face and/or online support for adults (16+) who are navigating a wide range of issues, including:
- Constant worrying, overthinking and feeling on edge or stressed
- Low mood or feeling down, lacking motivation and energy
- Acute or chronic illness (yours or a friend or relative’s)
- Relationship difficulties
- Bereavement and loss
- The impact of past experiences
You don’t have to explain everything perfectly, and you don’t have to pretend to be okay. I provide a place where you can be honest, take your time, and feel heard.
My approach is trauma‑informed and collaborative, tailored to each client I work with. We work at your pace, exploring what you need to feel steadier, clearer, and more connected to your life again.
I offer a free, no-obligation telephone conversation to explore what has brought you to seek counselling and to see if working together feels right.
Training, qualifications & experience
I’m a qualified counsellor and a registered member of the BACP, working to the BACP Ethical Framework to ensure your safety, dignity and confidentiality throughout our work together. I have worked in Education, the NHS and a women’s charity, giving me a deep, compassionate understanding of the many ways people struggle and how they heal. Being alongside people in these settings has taught me to listen closely, to move gently, and to respect the courage it takes to reach out when life feels heavy.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
