About me
Hi and welcome.
I am Denise, a pluralistic integrative counsellor who will provide you with bespoke therapy, as individual as yourself. I work with adults and young people of over 13 years of age and provide a safe, confidential, non-judgemental therapeutic space both face to face, in therapy rooms in central Chepstow or online, via WhatsApp facetime.
Throughout therapy I will encourage you to open up about your issues and how they affect you and others. Working collaboratively, we will develop strategies to help you change the unhelpful thoughts and behaviours that are holding you back. We cannot turn back time, but counselling will help you reframe your unhelpful thoughts, arming you with ways of coping with them, now and in the future. Foremost we will work with your best interests at heart.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Other areas of counselling I deal with
I am an Integrative counsellor working within the framework of Pluralism. I combine elements of a number of therapeutic modalities (person centred, cognitive/behavioural, solution focused, acceptance amongst others), to meet the needs of individual clients, providing a bespoke service. At the heart is an empathic therapeutic relationship between counsellor and client, helping the client make sense of their situation and supporting them whilst they make changes towards their therapeutic goal.
There are few problems that cannot be talked out. However, sometimes there may be specialisms outside my remit. On these occasions I will be pleased to refer you onto organisations that will offer you the support you need.
