About me

I understand that beginning therapy can feel daunting. You may know that something does not feel right but struggle to put it into words, or you may have been carrying difficult experiences for a long time and feel ready to explore them. You might be experiencing anxiety, low mood, burnout, relationship difficulties or feeling overwhelmed or stuck, or you may be navigating changes in your identity, relationships, family or wider life.

I offer a confidential and non-judgmental space where you can explore what is happening for you without pressure to have everything figured out. My aim is to meet you where you are and build a therapeutic relationship in which you feel able to bring the different parts of yourself, including those that may feel difficult, uncomfortable or less understood by others.

As a Person-Centred Psychotherapist, I believe that you are the expert on your own experience. I will not assume that I know what is best for you or tell you what you should do. Instead, we can work together to understand your experiences more deeply, explore the choices available to you and make sense of patterns, emotions or ways of coping that may no longer be serving you.

I recognise that who we are and how we feel can also be shaped by the world around us. Culture, identity, family expectations, relationships, discrimination and wider social circumstances are all welcome within our work together. I am particularly mindful of creating a space for people who may have previously felt misunderstood, judged or unable to bring their whole selves into therapy.

While my practice is rooted in person-centred psychotherapy, I work flexibly and collaboratively. If you would find it helpful, we can incorporate creative exercises or therapeutic tools informed by my wider training, while ensuring that you remain at the centre of the process.

I offer both short and longer-term therapy and generally recommend beginning with a minimum of 12 sessions. This gives us time to develop a meaningful therapeutic relationship and explore what has brought you to therapy with greater depth. We can review our work together as we go, with no expectation that therapy needs to look a particular way.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a UKCP-registered Person-Centred Psychotherapist and hold an MSc in Contemporary Person-Centred Psychotherapy and Applications from the Metanoia Institute.

Alongside my MSc, I hold a Postgraduate Certificate in Therapeutic Arts, incorporating Gestalt and Transactional Analysis approaches. I have undertaken additional professional development in areas including Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) Essentials, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) Essentials, safeguarding, and working therapeutically with suicide and risk.

I have completed over 500 hours of supervised clinical practice across community organisations and private practice, providing both time-limited and longer-term psychotherapy to adults from a wide range of backgrounds.

My clinical experience includes providing counselling to refugees, asylum seekers and migrants, as well as supporting students and professionals experiencing complex emotional distress and burnout.

My wider experience within the mental health sector includes developing and facilitating community mental health initiatives, peer support work and contributing to mental health organisations through trustee and peer-review roles. This has given me experience of mental health from clinical, community and lived-experience perspectives.
