About me
.....and how we would work together
We all struggle from time to time. Whether it’s something that’s going on for you currently or something you’ve potentially always found difficult, I believe we all have the ability to make changes (even if it doesn’t feel like it right now), especially when we are able to do that at a pace that works for us. Most importantly - you really don’t have to do it alone.
Whatever your reasons for seeking counselling, exploring your concerns confidentially with a supportive therapist can help to unravel and make sense of your feelings, helping you find your way forward. Our relationship is a huge part of that process and so I work to build a warm, trusting relationship from the beginning, offering a compassionate, non-judgemental space.
Each of us has our own set of unique life experiences and challenges, so as an integrative counsellor, I adapt my approach to your individual needs, weaving together several different theories and ways of working. As well as working with what is going on for you now, I also take a psychodynamic approach, where appropriate, which can help you recognise how your past experiences influence the here and now.
Finding the right therapist can be tricky; reading a profile and seeing a photograph can only give you so much. The best way to decide if we can work together is for us to meet, which is why I offer an initial no-obligation 20-minute session (online) at no charge.
I work with adults of all ages and offer short or long-term therapy. We can talk about which is best for you when we meet. I have experience in a number of areas including anxiety, depression, low mood, self-esteem, confidence, relationships, and loss.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
