About me

Whether you are facing;

a big life challenge,

feeling overwhelmed,

trying to manage difficult thoughts and feelings,

or simply wish to think about who you are and what you want out of life,

your relationships or work,

I invite you to experience how powerful the rewards of therapy can be.

I am a trained and Registered MBACP therapist. I hold a Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling and Therapy. I work with individuals and couples.

In my couples work I use the Imago Method which encourages better communication and promotes healing and understanding between the couple. I find it immensely effective in moving couples forward, growing intimacy and deepening relationships.

I have years of life experience and professional experience both as a therapist and in the workplace, and am passionate about facilitating your ability to effect positive change and gain greater insight and self-awareness, assisting you in feeling more in control of your life and emotions.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy Registered Therapist (MBACP), and I am trained in the Imago Method of couples therapy.

I work with individuals over 18 years and couples.

I work psychodynamically, which means I am trained to help uncover unconscious processes that may be impacting on your life. Past early developmental experiences and/or relationships can unknowingly inform and limit our present beliefs and behaviours. Uncovering these influences and their impact can enable you to gain insight and make better choices.

I will assist you in developing greater self-awareness, coping strategies and promoting a sense of calm and wellbeing.

I hold a BACP Accredited Diploma In Psychotherapy and Counselling from the Manor House Centre for Psychotherapy and Counselling.

In my work with couples I employ the Imago Method, which at its simplest is a communication technique and on a therapeutic level is a process of healing. It is extremely effective in building intimacy, understanding and deepening relationships.

I abide by the Code of Ethics of the BACP to act in the best interests of the client at all times.

I hold an Enhanced DBS Certificate, which means I am suitable to work with teenagers and adults in a therapeutic capacity.

I have experience working with a wide range of issues and a special interest in; anxiety, depression, lack of self-esteem, relationship problems, identity, loss and bereavement and critical illness. I have experience working with people from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Whatever your gender, religion, culture, sexuality or age, I look forward to getting to know you  individually or as a couple, and working together to effect positive change.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
