About me

If you are looking at this website, then you are probably feeling low and/or anxious. This might include experiencing negative or disturbing thoughts, overwhelming worry or churning thoughts of the past, or experiencing feelings of low self-esteem. You may be experiencing panic or more specific anxiety-related disorders such as OCD, PTSD, or Social Anxiety. Whichever of these is the case, I have no doubt that there will be an impact on your ability to live and enjoy your life to the full. You may have already tried ways to help yourself, but it hasn't quite worked.

As a fully qualified Psychotherapist, I can help you understand your current thoughts and feelings and guide you down a path to recovery. I will help you to increase your psychological flexibility, which will in turn bring you back in line with your values and the life that you deserve to have. I will also equip you with the tools and knowledge that you will need to maintain your recovery.

I believe in a straightforward, friendly, and down-to-earth approach, ensuring always that your needs are paramount. I will strive to see the problem through your eyes and to fully acknowledge your thoughts and feelings. I place great importance on ensuring that you understand and see the worth of the psychological techniques that we will practice together.

Training, qualifications & experience

After a lengthy career in the world of industry and commerce, I retrained as a Psychotherapist with the NHS, obtaining a Postgraduate Diploma (with distinction) in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. I continued to practice with the NHS mental health service for 8 years, during which I gained a high level of experience and training in helping clients with a wide range of mental health problems.

Since leaving the NHS, I have continued to practice in a private capacity and have undertaken extensive training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy for Depression, Anxiety, Perfectionism, Low Self-Esteem, and Trauma.

I believe that my combination of extensive life experience and professional mental health training places me in a great position to help my clients overcome their difficulties.
