MBACP MA AdvDip BSc Integrative Counsellor & Psychotherapist

About me

I am an Integrative counsellor and psychotherapist who works with adults and young people.  I bring together effective contemporary approaches to therapy, drawing from a variety of models to suit your individual needs. I believe that the relationship between myself and clients is very important and aim to build a supportive, safe and confidential relationship where we can discuss and explore you, your life and your potential.

There are times in everyone's life when things are tough, distressing, and feel overwhelming. We might find ourselves repeating unhelpful and destructive patterns in the way we behave or relate to others. At these times, therapy can be life changing. At other times, therapy can provide an exciting space for personal development, growth, and exploration.

I have seven years intensive training experience in counselling and psychotherapy, and more than twelve years experience of supporting people to lead more comfortable, satisfying and enjoyable lives.  In addition to my private practice, I work as a consultant for the NHS, provide training to community health teams, and work with community mental health teams (CMHTs) and Child and Adolescent mental health services (CAMHS).

How I work

As an Integrative counsellor and psychotherapist I bring together effective contemporary approaches to therapy, drawing from a variety of models to suit your individual needs.  I am experienced in drawing upon different theoretical models such as relational, attachment based, psychodynamic, person centred and energy work.

I have experience working with a wide range of clients in both short-term, time limited and long term therapy.

Reduced fee for your first appointment

I offer a reduced fee for the initial appointment as the first appointment is a good way for us both to gain a strong sense of whether we can work together in a way that will be helpful and valuable for you.  The relationship between any individual and their therapist is often the most important factor in determining therapeutic success.  I aim to build a supportive, safe and confidential relationship where we can discuss and explore you, your life, and your potential.

Member organisations

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
