About me

Hi, I'm Danielle, and I have been a qualified integrative therapist for 2 years. I work with adults at the Life-Force Centre in Colchester, Essex.

I am here to help with adults who are struggling with ADHD, anxiety, developmental trauma, PTSD, bereavement, relationship issues, domestic violence, sexual assault, rape, coercive control, childhood trauma, attachment, bullying, death & dying, difference & diversity, divorce, emotional abuse, stress, generational trauma, LGBTQ+, sexuality, inner conflict, and anger.

Having been diagnosed with Inattentive ADHD myself, I have a deep and clear understanding of ADHD and the difficulties and challenges of it. Navigating life with a neurodiverse mind can be lonely, isolating, frustrating, and rejecting. I am here to help with the complexities of what having ADHD can bring.

I offer a warm, non-judgemental and empathic space, where you will feel heard, seen and understood. Together, we will work for you to find a deeper understanding of yourself, learn how to manage behaviours that feel out of control, how to communicate effectively, learn how to regulate your emotions in a healthy way, and to process difficult experiences that have not yet been worked through.

I am a compassionate, understanding, and empathic person who is down to earth, honest, and open-minded.

Being an integrative therapist means that I work tailored to your needs. I believe that a 'one size fits all' does not work in therapy, and we will explore your world together, to find ways which will help you grow and progress in your life, in a way in which suits you best.

I enjoy working creatively with my clients, whereby I may sometimes find creative tools like stones and objects, pens and paper, therapeutic cards, and acrylic paints to further and deepen your understanding of yourself and your psyche. All of which will only be explored with your consent. I work in different ways; this is just one of which we could explore together, if you wish to do so.

Training, qualifications & experience

I studied at the University of Suffolk for three years, two years of which included in-person placement training. I passed with a first-class honours degree in Integrative counselling. I have been working with Adults for 4 years.

I have continued professional development training, where I have completed training modules on the following:

  • Creative Counsellors: The Healing Journey: Supporting Survivors of Sexual Violence
  • Creative Counsellors: Exploring Self-harm
  • Creative Counsellors: Creative Counselling Interventions Pathway
  • The Science of Intergenerational Trauma with Dr Debra Choudhury
  • Complex Trauma: The Tavistock Model by Dr Jo Stubley
  • The Science of ADHD: Navigating Neurodiversity in a Neurotypical World

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
