About me

Something has brought you here. Whatever that is, you don't have to carry it alone. Maybe you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, struggling to process things, or disconnected from yourself or the people around you. Perhaps life feels heavy in a way that's hard to put into word, or you’re holding experiences that need a safe caring and understanding space.

We can begin to make sense of it together, and work towards meaningful change.

About Me

Hi, I’m Daniela, an integrative counsellor based in Manchester, originally from the Dominican Republic. I offer a warm, creative, and genuinely collaborative space. One that meets you where you are and adapts to you, not the other way around. Together, we’ll work to understand what’s going on for you, at a pace that feels right.

How I Work

I believe there is no “one size fits all” in therapy. My approach draws on a range of evidence-based methods, including CBT, person-centred therapy, ACT, trauma-informed practice, and expressive arts. This allows us to shape the work around your needs and what feels most helpful for you.

Language, Culture & Identity

I offer sessions in both English and Spanish. I understand firsthand what it means to hold more than one culture at once, and how this can shape your sense of self, identity, and belonging.

This has led me to feel particularly passionate about supporting people navigating these experiences. You might be adjusting to a new environment, going through life transitions, or trying to understand where you fit, both within yourself and in the world around you.

What You Can Expect

Some people come looking for practical tools and strategies; others need a space to explore and reflect. Most need a mix of both, at different times. If you're not sure of what you need just yet, that's okay. We’ll figure it out together.

Our sessions can evolve as you do. Whether you prefer something more goal-focused or a space to explore more openly, we’ll create a process that feels safe, tailored, and effective.

Whether this is your first time in therapy or you’re returning to it, you'll find a space that feels safe, supportive and non-judgemental.  My aim is to offer a space where you feel safe to be open, supported in making sense of your experiences, and able to move towards clarity, change, growth, and greater wellbeing.

If something here resonates with you, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a BACP member and hold an MSc in Counselling (Distinction) and a BSc in Psychology. My training is integrative and trauma-informed, which means I integrate different approaches in my practice, such as person-centred, CBT, psychoanalysis, and solution-focused therapy. Additionally, I have training in DBT, ACT, grief, couple's conflict, expressive arts, and psychotherapy.

My experience includes working across EAP, student wellbeing, bereavement, BAME and neuro-diversity focused services. I've worked with young people and adults providing both short and long-term therapy for diverse therapeutic needs, such as life changes, migration, burnout, anxiety, relationship problems, low mood, self-esteem, grief and trauma. I also have experience facilitating art psychotherapy groups and psycho-educational workshops.

I've also published academic work, such as a cross-cultural research on young adults' experience of heartbreak for the Emerging Adulthood Journal (2022), reflecting my commitment to evidence-informed, culturally grounded practice.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
