About me
Taking the first step towards therapy can feel daunting, but it's also a courageous move toward healing and growth.
I'm Danny Grundy, a BACP-registered counsellor based in Coventry. I offer face-to-face and online sessions via Zoom, providing a safe, confidential space where you can explore what's going on for you without judgment or pressure.
I specialise in addiction and trauma-informed therapy and have a strong background supporting survivors of rape and sexual abuse. My approach is person-centred, meaning I work alongside you at your pace, helping you reconnect with your sense of self and begin healing from the deep impacts of trauma.
If you're unsure whether therapy is right for you, a short, no-obligation call can often help to answer your questions and give you a feel for how I work. I'm happy to talk things through — there's no pressure to commit.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a qualified counsellor with a Level 4 Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP).
My therapeutic work is rooted in the person-centred approach, supported by additional training in trauma-informed practice. I bring a grounded, relational style to the work, offering clients a space to be heard and understood without pressure or judgment.
I have extensive frontline experience supporting individuals affected by:
- Rape and sexual abuse
- Domestic violence
- Addiction and recovery
- Emotional neglect
- Grief, anxiety, and depression
Alongside my private practice, I’ve worked in specialist services supporting survivors of sexual trauma and individuals in addiction recovery, allowing me to develop a deep understanding of the impact of trauma and the importance of safety, pacing, and trust in the therapeutic relationship.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
I understand that reaching out for therapy can feel overwhelming, especially if you’ve been carrying things on your own for a long time. That’s why I aim to make the process as safe, clear, and supportive as possible from the first contact.
Our work together is led by you. I won’t push or rush you. Instead, I’ll walk alongside you, helping you make sense of your thoughts, feelings, and experiences at your own pace. Many of the people I work with come to therapy feeling stuck, isolated, or unsure of who they are anymore. Together, we can begin to untangle those feelings and find a way forward.
I offer a free 250-minute Zoom call so you can ask any questions, get a feel for how I work, and see whether you’d like to take the next step.
Whether you're new to therapy or returning after some time away, you are welcome here, just as you are.
