MBACP: EMDR/CBT therapist

About me

As a qualified counsellor, CBT and EMDR therapist based in Wimbledon, London, I specialise in helping adults work through anxiety, trauma, or feeling stuck in repetitive cycles. I offer a calm, supportive space where we can begin to understand what’s going on beneath the surface and start to make meaningful, lasting change.

My approach is focused on helping you break unhelpful patterns in your thoughts, emotions, and behaviours, so you can move forward with greater clarity, confidence, and a stronger sense of control in your life.

If you've been trying to work things out on your own but still feel stuck, I can help. You may be experiencing anxiety, overwhelm, low mood, addiction of some sort, or a sense of disconnection that doesn’t seem to shift. Often, these difficulties are linked to deeper patterns such as unresolved trauma, low self-esteem, guilt, or loss

My practice is a friendly, non-judgemental therapeutic space where we can identify, evaluate and explore what’s holding you back and work towards the meaningful change you are looking for. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling unsure why they feel the way they do — just that something doesn’t feel right. My practice can help make sense of this and support you in moving forward with more clarity and confidence.

Together, we look at how past experiences may still be affecting your present, why existing thought patterns form and how they may be obstructing you, and how to change that while also developing practical tools and techniques to help you reach your goals

What You Can Expect:

A calm, supportive, and respectful therapeutic relationship.

Sessions tailored to your needs and goals.

Space to explore emotions, work on problems and goals, identify repetition patterns and how to break them.

A balance of making sense or creating distance/closure to the past and building resilience in the present maintaining positive growth going forward.

I provide 8- 12 weekly sessions or, if you prefer, ongoing therapy. It's your space.

How I Work:

I am an integrative therapist- which means I adapt therapy to you rather than expecting you to fit a single model. My work draws on:

Person-centred therapy – to provide a safe, accepting relationship where you feel heard and understood

CBT – to help identify and shift unhelpful thought patterns, anxiety cycles, habits and self-critical beliefs

EMDR (Eye movement desensitisation & reprocessing) – for processing distressing memories, and experiences that may still feel emotionally “stuck” within the nervous system. Particularly effective for traumatic past experiences which are unresolved within the body and mind.

Other approaches and modalities which can be brought in that may fit your needs include IFS (internal family systems)-understanding the different parts of you that want different things. Attachment therapy - understanding how you relate to others. NLP (neuro linguistic programming)- understanding how you experience the world. Psychodynamics - understanding drives and the subconscious. This allows me offer the right models for you, at the right time. I centre therapy around enabling the healing process whilst supporting you to reach your potential.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
