About me

I have experience working with a range of issues and my approach is relaxed and collaborative. We will work together on anything you bring, and you will always remain at the forefront of our counselling.

Based in South Manchester and currently offering telephone, Zoom, or walk and talk therapy at either Sale Water Park or Chorlton Water Park.

We can arrange an initial telephone consultation of 10-15 minutes, during which we'll figure out if we're the right fit for each other. We can also take this time to see if my experience will meet your particular needs, as well as what time frames you think you'd like to work within.

If you bring anything that leads me to believe you could benefit from a more specialist handling in a particular area, then I will also endeavour to point you in the direction of someone who might be better posed to provide this.

Training, qualifications & experience

I’m a Registered Member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), have regular supervision, hold professional insurance cover for my practice, and undertake regular training to continue my own professional development.

I have particular experience of working with bereavement and grief. However, I have worked with clients from a range of ages and backgrounds, and am comfortable working with most issues that may surface in our work.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
