About me
How I can help:
We can all have times when life is difficult, confusing, painful. We may feel stuck, or rushed, or lost - overwhelmed by current challenges or past difficulties. Counselling can provide a point of pause - an opportunity to reflect, and to connect with what it means to be you.
As a Humanistic Psychotherapeutic Counsellor I feel strongly that everyone has worth - valuing you as an individual, and your experiences as unique. I can help you if you are facing family issues or relationship problems. I can also support you if you are struggling with anxiety, depression, or low self-esteem. Perhaps you have suffered a bereavement, or are weighed down by a sense of loss, or loneliness. Maybe you are not sure how you feel, and are unclear about what you need right now.
Our counselling sessions can help to make better sense of your experiencing - encouraging personal growth as you move towards a deeper understanding and appreciation of yourself.
Working together:
I offer a collaborative approach to therapy: a space for curiosity and creativity as we work together to support the meaningful change you seek.
Coming from a background in accessible education, advocacy, and communications, I draw on my breadth and depth of professional and personal experience within diverse communities - and feel passionately that the therapeutic space allows for all voices, all stories to be heard. I see it as my position not to advise or to find ‘quick fixes’; rather, I aim to encourage an affirming, inclusive, non-judgemental space, and warmly invite you to bring whatever thoughts, feelings, and emotions might arise in the moment - hopeful that every part of you can feel welcome and accepted.
Building on a shared sense of trust and safety, we can work together, and at your pace, to carefully explore the ways you relate to yourself, to others and to the wider world - as you consider what is still useful, and what no longer serves you.
A positive way forward:
Counselling can be challenging - and also empowering. Whilst there are aspects of our lives that we cannot change, I believe that with fresh insight and greater self-awareness there is the possibility of moving forwards with a renewed sense of agency, freedom and fulfilment.
Throughout this process of discovery, my commitment is to be alongside you with kindness and heartfelt compassion.
Next steps:
I appreciate how choosing your therapist is an important and deeply-personal decision.
Hoping to help, I offer an initial 20-minute telephone consultation, without charge: an opportunity for us to connect - for me to hear what is bringing you to counselling right now, for you to ask any questions you might have about the process, and for us both to get a sense of how we might work together going forward.
If you would like to book an introductory call, do please get in touch so we can arrange a suitable time to discuss your needs.
I look forward to hearing from you.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
