About me

  • I strongly believe that good counselling should be available to all and at affordable prices. Whether this is your first time reaching out or you’ve had a break and wish to return for further therapy, welcome.

I have particular experience supporting clients living with:

  • Addiction
  • Relationship Breakdown
  • Trauma
  • Chronic anxiety/ Depression
  • ADHD
  • Bereavement
  • OCD
  • Family Issues and Relationships
  • Illness

I recognise how these experiences can affect confidence, identity, and connection with others. My aim is to provide a supportive and confidential environment where you can explore and process your feelings.

When working together, we may look at patterns in your relationships, emotional responses, and ways of coping that have developed over time. This process can help you gain deeper self-understanding and begin to create lasting change.

Clients often describe my approach as calm, reflective, and compassionate but also firm and honest. I aim to help you feel heard and accepted for who you are, while supporting you to explore what may be holding you back.

Whatever has brought you here, therapy can offer deep and lasting change.

I am an integrative counsellor grounded in a psychodynamic approach. This means I aim to understand not only your current experiences, but also how your past relationships and life events may be shaping how you are in the world today. . Alongside this, I draw on techniques from a range of therapeutic models to adapt the work to your individual needs.

I offer online counselling, providing flexibility and comfort wherever you are. I also see clients in person from therapy rooms in Chelsea, London.

If you’re unsure whether therapy is right for you, I invite you to get in touch for an initial conversation. There’s no obligation just a chance to explore what you might need and whether we could work well together. Reaching out can feel daunting, but it’s also a positive and courageous first step toward understanding, healing, and change.

I am an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and I am bound by their Ethical Framework. My work is supervised by a senior practitioner insuring the best possible care for you at all stages of your treatment.

I dedicate my free time by extending my knowledge towards continuous professional development (CPD). This is a profession that is rich in development and constant advances. It is my passion to stay as up to date with findings, as possible.

Feel free to reach out to me any time on: cvalance@gmail.com

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
