About me
I am currently available:
- Online Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
- In-Person in Exeter on Thursdays.
I specialise in Anxiety | Depression | Burn Out | Low Self Confidence & Self Esteem | ADHD and / or Autism | Relationship issues | Loss and Bereavement
I offer a therapeutic relationship free from judgment for you to explore any difficulty you may be experiencing. We can work together to make sense of your situation and feelings. I will listen, gently challenge your beliefs and encourage fresh perspectives. Through small shifts you may find an alternative way of thinking. This approach builds on the momentum that brought you to therapy in the first place. I will work with you for you to feel understood and more at ease in your life.
I believe that past events do impact us in the present but we don't need to go digging around looking for them as such. If something is impacting you it will show up in your day to day life in relationships, memories, thoughts and wellbeing. So we will focus on these present day occurrences. We will work to bring greater awareness to your emotions, befriending them and finding out about what is behind them and what you need to move forward. Through sharing this space you may find that what was overwhelming becomes more manageable and carries less weight.
My therapeutic approach is integrative and is largely based on Gestalt Therapy, Attachment theory and Psychodynamic Therapy. My approach is a talking therapy at times incorporating psychological education or creative interventions into our work together.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
It is important to find a therapist you feel comfortable with. I suggest we have a brief call or online meeting where we can discuss working together. There is no fee for this. If you decide you would like to continue we can arrange a time and day for your first session.
During your first session we will focus on what brought you to therapy and I will ask questions to build a picture of your situation and assess your needs and goals for therapy.
If it turns out that you need a different therapist or therapy with a different skill-set I would be happy to make a suitable referral.
For a free 15 minute initial consultation please contact me.
