About me
I am an experienced integrative counsellor and psychotherapist working from my practice room in Ashtead.
I understand that when life becomes challenging or overwhelming it may be difficult to know where to turn for help. By looking for a counsellor you have taken the first step to finding professional support to explore your feelings and the issues that are troubling you.
I offer short and long term therapy for those experiencing feelings of anxiety, depression, stress, loss and bereavement or other problems causing sadness in your life.
How Counselling Can Help
Talking to a counsellor is unlike talking to friends or family as it allows you a safe, confidential space to be listened to without judgement. It can provide you with the opportunity to find new perspectives and choices that enable the possibility of lasting change in your life and is beneficial to anyone wishing to improve their mental health.
Whatever the therapeutic approach the relationship between client and counsellor is key to the effectiveness of the work. I truly believe in the positive effects that counselling can achieve and work collaboratively with you in order to build the trust essential for the therapeutic relationship to develop and grow.
I have particular experience in loss and bereavement. This includes disenfranchised grief, a loss unacknowledged by family, friends or society, which may lead to feelings of isolation and loneliness. You may have suffered from the loss of an unrecognised, secret or stigmatised relationship, leaving you feeling unable to share your feelings of grief and sadness with those around you. However you have been affected by loss or bereavement, therapy provides a space for your feelings to be heard, acknowledged and validated, helping you find a way forward through these challenges.
Free Introductory Consultation
I offer a free 20 minute online or telephone consultation for an initial discussion. This gives you the opportunity to see how it may be for us to work together. To book an appointment, please telephone or email me.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
