About me

I work with young people, children and adults. I have been practicing as a psychotherapist and counsellor since 2009, and provide a warm, professional and confidential space for you to think about the problems and issues which are troubling you at the moment. I have worked in many schools - both state and private (from primary up to sixth form) and have a thorough knowledge and experience of the sorts of issues that young people face, in and out of education, as well as safe-guarding issues that may arise in the work.

With children and young people I use a combination of play therapy and person-centred techniques, to create a trusting relationship where we can explore what may be troubling the person, and think about ways to manage these issues.

With older clients I work using psychodynamic, systemic and person-centred approaches which adults respond to positively. The approach revolves around the need of the client, what support suits them and how best to safely help them through the difficulties.

Historic and current attachments (relationships) are often key in how a client is presenting and managing their difficulties, and so - depending on the need of the client - I always hold this in mind with the work.

There maybe many reasons why you are looking for extra support - or one reason - no problem is too small. I have worked with a variety of issues which crop up during our lives - anxiety, loss & bereavement, eating disorders, anger, depression, self-harm, friendship issues, relationship and family breakdowns, self-esteem or low confidence - and many more.
The aim is to help you explore and understand these challenges, hopefully providing you with some useful tools along the way.

If you struggle to come to face-to-face sessions I also provide online counselling, which is delivered via email. This can be a positive step towards face-to-face counselling.

As a BACP Accredited counsellor I take my own personal development and safety seriously, and attend supervision 2 times a month and regular training and seminars to make sure I am up to date on the latest research and practice in my field.

Initial consultation (face-to-face) takes approximately half an hour and is usually half price, unless we have discussed via email beforehand.

Sessions cost £65 for 50minutes.
If you are unable to attend a session and do not give me 24 hours notice I will charge the full fee.

There is no set number of sessions you must attend, we can take it as things go and how you feel as time passes. I would appreciate 2 weeks notice.
