About me
I'm Claire and I'm an Integrative Counsellor; here to provide you with a non-judgemental, safe, unique and client-centred experience for your counselling journey.
Through my own therapeutic journey, I have felt the benefit of having empathy and a safe space to help me understand and explore my emotions and feelings, as well as gaining self-awareness.
I believe in building a strong therapeutic relationship where you can open up and explore your emotions and feelings. Even the uncomfortable and difficult ones. Doing so, I believe, leads to us having a greater understanding and to have compassion for ourselves.
I work with both adults and young people over the age of 16. With individuals either in an open-ended contract or for an agreed amount of time.
How counselling can help?
Counselling can provide you with a safe space and environment in which you can explore all aspects of yourself, grow and build self-understanding. Counselling is not about me providing you with advice or solutions, it is about empowering you on your journey of self-discovery and increasing your self-awareness of your emotional wellbeing.
What to expect in my first session?
If you decide that counselling is for you and would like to take the next step, we can have a free initial consultation lasting 20- 30 minutes this gives us a chance to meet and to see if we feel comfortable with each other. This can be done online or via telephone.
During this consultation, we would discuss more details about your needs, and how we can work together moving forward.
Sessions following the initial consultation last 50 minutes.
I am registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office as part of the Data Protection Act and I am also a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. This means I’m bound by and work within their Ethical Frameworks.
I have regular supervision sessions and undertake training courses and workshops for my continuing professional development.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
