About me
Some clients come to therapy with a fairly clear sense of what they are struggling with, while others find it harder to put into words why life has begun to feel overwhelming or difficult to manage. Whatever your starting point, therapy offers a space to pause, reflect and be heard, and to explore what is happening at your own pace.
I have worked with individuals experiencing a wide range of emotional and relational difficulties, including depression and anxiety, bereavement and loss, the impact of sexual abuse, difficult early attachment experiences, relationship breakdown, questions around identity, the challenges of migration and relocation and the transition to parenthood. I have significant experience with neurodivergence as well as with family members supporting individuals with autism, ADHD or eating disorders.
I offer weekly sessions grounded in compassion, kindness and curiosity where we can think together about the feelings, patterns, experiences or relationships that may be causing difficulty and begin to understand them more fully.
Psychodynamic therapy usually takes place in-person on an open-ended basis, but shorter-term psychotherapy is also available and I can work online for patients who cannot access therapy in person.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a psychodynamic psychotherapist working with adults aged 18 and over and am accredited by both the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) and the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).
In addition to a 5-year Clinical Qualification in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy from WPF Therapy (UKCP, BACP & BPC accredited) & The British Psychotherapy Foundation (BPC accredited), I also have postgraduate qualifications in the Psychology and Neuroscience of Mental Health as well as an Honours degree in Modern Languages.
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) is a professional association, representing the profession of psychoanalytic psychotherapy.
The organisation is itself made up of fourteen member organisations and BPC accredits the trainings of its member organisations. An individual who qualifies from one of these trainings is then eligible for entry into the BPC's register.
BPC registrants are governed by a code of ethics, a policy of continuing professional development, a statement on confidentiality and a complaints procedure. The BPC is a Member Society of the European Federation for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy in the Public Sector (EFPP). Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
Psychodynamic therapy is based on the understanding that our past experiences and relationships can continue to shape how we feel, think and relate to ourselves and others, often in ways we are not fully aware of.
In our work together, we will be curious about these patterns and what may lie beneath them. Developing a deeper understanding of yourself can create the possibility of responding differently, rather than feeling caught in familiar ways of thinking, feeling or relating, and can bring greater freedom in how you live your life.
The relationship with your therapist is one of the most important parts of psychotherapy - arguably more important than any particular theory or technique.
Please don't hesitate to get in touch to see whether we may be a good fit. I look forward to hearing from you.
