About me

When things become difficult or overwhelming it can be useful to get emotional support and talk to someone.  We might need another person to help us make sense of our experiences so we can move through or change them.  We might be feeling anxious, depressed, lost or stuck.  We might realise our past is catching up with us.  We might not know what the problem is, but our usual ways of coping don't seem to be up to the task and we can no longer ignore that something feels wrong. Whatever you are going through right now, you don't have to deal with it alone.

It's not always an option to sort things out with family or friends. Maybe it feels too personal, or you want someone impartial to help you with perspective .  Maybe you have noticed unhelpful patterns, beliefs or narratives about yourself or your relationships.   This is where therapy can help.

I am a qualified counsellor and therapist based in Central London and North London. I also offer online sessions.

As an integrative therapist, I draw from a range of approaches, including person-centred, humanistic, psychodynamic and relational psychotherapy.  The way I work depends on you and your needs, as each person is different. I offer a safe space where you can feel seen and heard as we explore together whatever is troubling you.  My style is warm, empathic, authentic and non-judgmental. I aim to help you heal, grow and make the changes you want to see in your life.

A little about me... I am passionate about helping people.  Before becoming a therapist, I worked for many years as a solicitor in Australia and in the City of London at law firms and in finance and media.  I have been a client too so understand what it's like from both sides.  I also know from personal experience how rewarding and transformative therapy can be.

I know it can be hard to ask for help and reaching out can be daunting.  But by looking for a therapist you've already taken the first step by being willing to consider help and honouring the part of you that is ready for change.  Even if you have mixed feelings about it, I encourage you to get in touch by phone or email.  You are welcome to leave me a voicemail message and I will come back to you as soon as I can.  I offer a free 20 minute initial consultation online where we can meet and see if we might work well together.

Training, qualifications & experience

I trained at The Minster Centre, Europe’s leading institute for Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy.

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and practice according to their ethical framework.  Over the years, I have provided counselling and psychotherapy services in a number of different mental health settings.  I have worked with a diverse range of clients and I am experienced in both long-term and short-term counselling and psychotherapy.  I now work in private practice as a BACP registered therapist and counsellor.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
