About me
I am an integratively trained counsellor, meaning I am able to draw from several different modalities and theories of counselling and psychotherapy. I work with individuals 18 and above and offer sessions both online and face to face. I believe in and am passionate about equality and diversity, making sure that the services I provided are fair and accessible to everyone, ensuring equal treatment, dignity and respect for all.
I have helped clients with a wide range of issues, including, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, sexual and physical abuse, suicidal thoughts, bereavement, historical trauma and many other life debilitating experiences.
Having experienced personal therapy myself, I know taking that first step can be difficult and challenging. I tailor my approach to each individual I work with, drawing from various philosophies and techniques to meet their specific situation and needs. This allows for flexibility in our work together, as we identify the forms of expression that best support growth. Listening to my clients' personal stories is a privilege which I never take for granted, and I admire the courage it takes in facing their pain to find freedom within themselves and their relationships. Therapy has the potential to catalyse personal change, allowing us the opportunity to ‘find strength & clarity together.’
Training, qualifications & experience
My current qualifications :
- Counselling Studies CPCAB Level 2 Certificate (WCG Warwickshire College)
- Counselling Studies CPCAB Level 3 Certificate (WCG Warwickshire College)
- Therapeutic Counselling Foundation degree (University of Gloucestershire)
My current work is centred around my private practice, a part-time role working in mental health support, and volunteering counselling work. These combined roles allow me to work as a counsellor with the additional experience of working with individuals suffering from ‘specific mental health issues’
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
