About me

Hello, my name is Ch’maine Robinson. I’m a certified Psychotherapist and Hypnotherapist with over 8 years of experience, and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP). I’m also an accredited member of the National Counselling and Hypnotherapy Societies (NCS, NHS). I began my journey into counselling and psychotherapy after my own experiences showed me just how transformative therapy can be. I understand how daunting that first step can feel, which is why I strive to create a warm, compassionate space built on mutual trust, empathy, and exploration at a pace that suits you. All questions are welcome- together we’ll create a space where you feel safe, heard, and supported.

My approach is integrative and tailored to each individual, ensuring care is aligned with your specific needs and goals. I have experience working with a wide range of issues, including:

  • Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD) and anxiety management
  • Trauma recovery and healing
  • Depression and mood disorders
  • Self-esteem and confidence building
  • Complex emotions including shame, grief and guilt
  • Attachment issues and family dynamics
  • Dissociative disorders
  • Panic disorders and anxiety attacks
  • Phobias and specific fears
  • Relationship challenges and separation
  • Personality disorders (Bipolar types, BPD)

Alongside one-to-one therapy, I also conduct corporate events, deliver guest presentations, and provide coaching for Body and Mind Wellbeing. As a Licensed Champion with Menopause Experts Group (MEG), I’m passionate about supporting people through the challenges of menopause and promoting emotional wellness in both personal and professional settings.

Psychotherapy:

Effective therapy reduces confusion and creates clarity, allowing you to make effective decisions leading to positive changes in your thoughts, attitudes and behaviours. Therapy sessions are not for advice-giving. They provide a space to talk, explore, sound things out and guide in coming to personal decisions and realisations. The aim is to enable you to feel more equipped to make your own choices, feel able to reach your own decisions and go forward with a greater sense of clarity and well-being.

Hypnotherapy:

Hypnotherapy is a complementary and holistic approach in which hypnosis is used to create a state of focused attention and increased suggestibility during which positive suggestions and guided imagery are used to help individuals deal with a variety of concerns and issues. These can include weight management, smoking, anxiety, phobias and more. Our subconscious is powerful and hypnotherapy can reach areas of the mind that hold deep routed beliefs and habits in order to bring about change for the better.

Mindfulness:

Mindfulness is the psychological process of bringing one’s attention to experiences occurring in the present moment, which one can develop through the practice of meditation and through other training such as grounding techniques and being present in any given moment. It means we are able to live in each moment rather than in the past or worrying about the future.

Vision Board classes:

Vision boards are wonderful tools used to help clarify, concentrate, and maintain focus on specific life goals. Literally, a vision board is any sort of board on which you display images that represent whatever you want to be, do, or have in your life. Guidance is given on how to focus your attention and connect images in a meaningful way according to your goals.

Food Therapy classes:

Food as Therapy:  Direct connections can be made between how we feel and what we eat, between mood and food. Health guidelines would have us believe that eating well is primarily about nutrition. Not true. Eating well is primarily about preparing the right food for how you happen to be feeling. This is a tool that inspires you to make and then act on this link.

Creative Writing Classes:

Much of the research on writing and happiness deals with “expressive writing,” or jotting down what you think and how you feel. Even blogging “undoubtedly affords similar benefits” to private expressive writing in terms of therapeutic value. Expressive writing has also been linked to improved mood, well-being, and reduced stress levels for those who do it regularly.

Day, evening and weekend sessions can be offered according to appointment.

I am available to hold sessions via Skype, Zoom, video and telephone. All are welcome, the important thing is that you are starting a new journey.

I am based at The Royal Exchange Building, St. Anns Square, Manchester, M2 7EF.

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
