About me

My approach ensures the work is all about you, without judgment or opinion. I will walk the path with you, as a person centred counsellor, with empathy, care and reflection to help you process issues and help you understand and validate your lived experience. Our work together will focus largely on self-acceptance, navigation of trauma, to allow healing and self-growth. Counselling enables you to feel empowered to get back on track with life.

I am a member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists and all my work is based around using their ethical framework, ensuring all my work is competent, accountable and credible.

My experience is based around bereavement, suicide, anxiety, loss, grief and health related trauma. I have helped people who are coping with the diagnosis of cancer, living with cancer and working with family members who navigate the path of their loved one with cancer or a long term illness.

I also work with people who find themselves in a tough place and need someone to help them navigate through the difficult times, process their trauma, life experiences and stress. The sessions will last an hour, in a safe, calm confidential environment. This can be done face to face, online - (I am a member of the Association of Counselling and Therapy Online) or by phone. Whatever is easiest for you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a level 5 qualified counsellor, with a warm, engaging down to earth approach shaped by years of working with people and from my own lived experiences. I am a member of the BACP and also an ACTO member - qualified to work with clients online and by phone.

I also work at Mind, a Charity that helps people who people deal with life's difficulties, and as a counsellor - I help people get back on track, empowering them to make their own decisions, finding their way forward.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

All information is held confidentially and in accordance with GDPR.
