About me
Hello and welcome to my page,
I work with a wide and diverse range of issues, however my special area of interest is working with trauma and PTSD. I am trained in single session therapy, Addiction and healing complex PTSD.
Having trained as an integrative humanistic counsellor, I am passionate about the impact that good counselling can have for positive change and to enrich our overall wellbeing when we are just needing that little bit more support.
As your counsellor we can enter the journey to help empower you to explore parts of your life that you may need answers to, recognise areas where you are facing unspoken challenges and provide a safe space to express your thoughts, feelings and for you to feel heard. Together we can develop new methods of coping, challenge negative outlooks and make positive changes if needed.
Integrative working means that I can draw on a wide range of theories, practices and techniques in order to enable us to individualise the most appropriate approach for you. This will be at your pace and in your own time, when you are ready.
I have worked in the care sector for over 20 years in various settings, I have had the privilege of working alongside wide and diverse groups of people with varying levels of support needs.
Having volunteered within the South Western Ambulance Trust in their Staying Well Service, this has given me extensive experience of helping those who have experienced trauma, Post Traumatic Stress and everyday common mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, compassion fatigue and recently health issues such as long covid.
Its so easy to just keep ploughing on and not allow ourselves the time to take care of our own mental wellbeing, often life gets in the way of life. Make this your time, put yourself first.
I work with adults and young people covering all areas of support. I prefer evenings and Saturdays but am happy to find a time that suits us both.
