About me
I’m Charlotte, an MBACP-registered integrative counsellor and psychotherapist based in Bristol.
I work with a range of concerns from general anxiety, low self-esteem and stress to gender identity, sexuality and trauma. I'm not a blank-slate therapist, I bring my authentic self to the work with the hope that you'll be able to also. My practice is neurodiversity affirming and I have undertaken additional training with The National Autistic Society.
Therapy provides a space to slow down and understand what’s going on beneath the noise. It is a space to help make sense of things, explore patterns and rediscover a sense of connection and direction.
As an integrative therapist, I draw from various therapeutic models including person-centred, existential, psychodynamic and third-wave CBT. This allows me to tailor our work to your specific needs and goals. Importantly, it’s paced by you and led by what you need both in the moment and over time as things shift.
Whether you’re navigating anxiety, grief, burnout, illness, identity questions, or simply trying to find your footing again, I offer a warm and grounded space where you can be yourself and explore your feelings with no judgment.
Above all, I work relationally, which means therapy isn’t something that happens to you, but something we build together. Research shows that a good therapeutic relationship is essential to successful therapy. This is why I believe the most important factor is that you feel safe and comfortable enough to be able to share how you are feeling.
I believe relational therapy can be a matrix of profound, long-lasting change. I’ll challenge you thoughtfully, and bring a curiosity to our sessions with a hope that we can understand your history, your struggles and the changes you desire. I appreciate that therapy can be hard and the first steps incredibly daunting. I hope to create a space where what matters to you feels important and the changes you seek feel possible.
Who I Work With
I support adults facing anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, grief, identity questions, illness, or a sense of being stuck and wanting to reconnect with what’s meaningful to you.
Living with a chronic health condition, I have a particular interest in the emotional realities of long-term health issues: the grief for what changes, the challenge of coping with health that can feel unpredictable from one day to the next, the pressure to 'push through’ and the identity questions that can arise when life doesn’t match the expectations you once had.
With a background in the creative world and my own creative practice, I also work with artists, musicians and writers who feel deeply connected to their work and who may struggle when creativity becomes tangled with perfectionism, burnout or fear of failure. I can support you in finding a healthier balance, so your wellbeing and identity isn’t overshadowed by the pressure to create or ‘succeed’.
I am a queer-identifying therapist and have worked in LGBTQ+ services. My practice is welcoming to gay, trans, non-binary and questioning clients and to those who feel unsure or conflicted about gender or sexuality.
I work with clients in person in Bristol and online across the UK.
How can therapy help?
Together, we might explore how past relationships shape your worldview and present relationships, how to navigate a world that can feel fast and overwhelming, the choices available to you around a decision or difficult situation and what it would look like to live with more self-compassion and acceptance.
Therapy can help you understand what it is you’re feeling and experiencing, loosen what’s been weighing you down, open the possibility of change and help you understand what an authentic and meaningful life looks like for you and how to move towards this - all at a pace that works for you.
Free 15 Minute Consultation
If you think you might like to talk, I offer a free initial 15-minute phone consultation to help you decide if we’re a good fit. It’s also an opportunity for you to share what’s on your mind and ask any questions you may have.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
