About me
Hi, I'm Charlotte. I offer an open, inclusive and non-judgemental space where you can explore whatever has brought you to therapy, at a pace that feels right for you.
I work integratively, drawing on a range of therapeutic approaches to tailor therapy to your individual needs; some of my approaches include Transactional Analysis, which explores how your early experiences can shape your personality, behaviour and relationship patterns. Alongside Person-Centred, which focuses on the here and now and developing autonomy and emotional awareness.
Throughout our sessions, you can expect to be met with compassion and genuine curiosity. My priority is to understand you, your experiences and what has shaped your story. I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship provides the foundation for meaningful and lasting change, and I strive to create a space where you feel heard and that you can be your authentic self.
I have worked as a therapist for several years across a range of settings, including mindfulness services, community-based organisations, employer-referred counselling, and alternative-to-crisis support. These experiences have enabled me to work with people from diverse backgrounds.
Alongside my clinical work, I am also a lecturer on a counselling programme, where I teach and support students training to become counsellors.
I offer a free 15 minute call to discuss what you are looking for from a therapist and to see if we could work well together.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am an integrative therapist, which means I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches to tailor therapy to each individual's unique needs. My primary approaches are Transactional Analysis (TA) and Person-Centred Therapy, although I integrate other therapeutic models where appropriate to support the work we do together.
Transactional Analysis is a relational approach that explores how our early experiences, relationships and life events shape the way we think, feel and relate to ourselves and others. It helps to identify recurring patterns of behaviour and communication, offering greater self-awareness and supporting meaningful, lasting change.
Alongside this, I integrate Person-Centred Therapy, which is grounded in the belief that every individual has the capacity for growth and change when they experience a safe, accepting and empathic therapeutic relationship. This approach values collaboration, emotional exploration and client autonomy, allowing therapy to progress at a pace that feels right for each individual.
Over the course of my career, I have gained experience working across a range of charities, community-based organisations and workplace services. This has included providing therapeutic support within mindfulness services, receiving referrals through employee support programmes, and working as part of an alternative to crisis service. These roles have enabled me to work with a diverse range of clients, backgrounds and presenting issues, further developing my ability to adapt my therapeutic approach to meet individual needs.
Alongside my clinical practice, I lecture on a counselling degree programme, supporting trainee counsellors in developing their theoretical knowledge, clinical skills and reflective practice. This role allows me to remain actively engaged with current research, ethical practice and developments within the counselling profession, while continuing to contribute to the training of future therapists.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
