About me

You may feel like you have so many self-doubts that you don't know know yourself. You second-guess your reactions, your decisions, what you said and how you said it. You go back over conversations long after they've finished. You wonder if you're too much, or not enough, or both at once.

You may also be wondering if you are a people-pleaser. You say yes when you mean no. You put everyone else first and feel guilty when you don't. You're not sure when you stopped knowing what you actually wanted.

That kind of self-doubt and people-pleasing usually has roots. Not in some fundamental flaw in you, but in what you learned early on about whether your feelings were valid, whether your needs were reasonable, whether it was safe to take up space. You may not have words for any of that. You just know that other people seem more certain than you are, and you can't work out why. You may feel like you're broken and want to be fixed.

If any of this feels familiar, you're in the right place.

Over time, many of the women I've worked with find they can hear themselves more clearly. They trust their own reactions more. They know what they need and, gradually, how to ask for it. They become to realise they're not broken and don't need to be fixed, and are more settled in themselves.

I work relationally, which means the relationship between us is part of how the work happens. Some clients find creative approaches useful, working with images or objects when words don't quite reach. Others find it easier to think when they're moving. I offer sessions outdoors in woodland near Hexham, in person in Gosforth and online with women across the UK. I have been working with women for over 12 years, including nine years in a women's health centre.

If you're wondering whether therapy might help, you're welcome to get in touch.

An initial conversation is free and doesn't commit you to anything. It's just a chance to ask questions and get a sense of whether working together feels right.
