About me

Hello, I'm Caroline and I am a fully qualified accredited Counsellor and Psychotherapist with over 20 years of active experience in this profession. I offer counselling, psychotherapy and coaching-based therapy to Individuals and Couples. If you are experiencing difficulties with anxiety, depression, addiction, ADHD and relationship or family challenges, please get in touch with me via my website, email or phone.

I am able to offer a course of counselling, psychotherapy or an individual one-off session.

How can I help you?

As your counsellor, I can guide and help you to talk through the issues you are facing in the present or from the past, in whatever way you choose to explain to me.

Through guidance towards understanding yourself better, and the ways you respond to interactions in your life and emotional experiences, you gain the capacity to cope and manage situations in a more fulfilling and satisfying manner.   Becoming aware of your patterns of behaviour is a significant step towards achieving a more balanced and stable experience of life.

I will offer you the support you need at all times, to work successfully towards your goals.

My approach as a therapist is human to human above all, rather than clinician to patient: We all share the common challenges of living throughout our lives as human beings, and as such, I am offering the wisdom of life experience as much as the benefits of a sound and professional training.

To book a session or to ask me any questions, please email me, text me or call me on 07918 152941.

I offer help with all stress-related difficulties:

  • Anxiety
  • Self-doubt
  • Depression
  • Relationship
  • Family issues
  • Sex and sexuality
  • Gender
  • Gender equality issues
  • Pregnancy
  • Post-natal experiences and problems
  • The Menopause experience and related issues

I practise in locations that are comfortable and welcoming, and provide a safe and confidential environment.

For initial enquiries, without commitment to any decisions, please email me or call me on 07918 152941.

Training, qualifications & experience

I trained at the Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy Education in Maida Vale, London W2.

I completed the Certificate in the Foundations of Counselling, followed by the 4 year Diploma Course between 1997 and 2001, achieving a first class grade in the final dissertation. The Diploma was received from the CCPE at the end of 2001.

Following this the UKCP Accreditation was awarded.

I have worked continually since 2001 in central London, gaining invaluable experience working with girls, boys, women and men of various cultures and creeds; and with an extensive range of issues.

I have found that focusing on running a private practice is the most successful way of maintaining a down to earth, relaxed and person-centred experience.

The comfortable and safe surroundings provide the best opportunity for you to be able to talk through your difficulties.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

How Online Counselling works

Due to the current circumstances I find that some people prefer to use Google Meet or phone for their sessions rather than coming to see me in person.  These methods of counselling work very satisfactorily - and when there's some background visibility too this provides a sense of place. I conduct the sessions in exactly the same form as in-person sessions. We begin at the time booked and the sessions last for 50 minutes. For both Couples Counselling and Individual Counselling I am finding that the success rate of the courses of therapy equal that of the in-person sessions.
